Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Switch Bezel Design

AIM:

To make a close body of switch bezel.

INTRODUCTION:

CLASS-A SURFACE: a surface made by the styler which has given as an input to the plastic design engineer. It is aesthetic surface and the outer most surface.

CLASS-B SURFACE: This is the surface that contains engineering features of a model and it created by offset of A-surface.

CLASS-C SURFACE: The closing surface of class-A and class-B surfaces is class-C surface.

STYLE FEASIBILITY:

• Before starting any work,we should check the quality of an given style.
• The style analysis is much more important to avoid re-work.
• When we receive a style from OEM,we need to follow some steps.

GEOMETRY ANALYSIS:

• As per OEM standards,we need to keep merging distance.so,we check quality and geometry of surfcace.

  JOIN TOLERANCE	0.01	0.01	0.01	0.01	0.04	0.01	0.01

• Join the given style and give the merging diatance as per OEM standard.
• cross check by boundary command,is there any gap?
• while using boundary,if you got highlighted gap.then increase the merging distance(MAX.0.04mm)
• then,inform to team leader,given merging distance is have some gap in surface and make a ppt with correct merging distance for a proposal to OEM.

CURVATURE ANALYSIS:

• curvature analysis is to check the radius as per standards.
• In euro standard,we should maintain radius 20% of thickness.so,we must pass the analysis.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

• Swith to material mode,and do draft analysis.
• check for any undercut in tooling direction.if you found,inform team leader with ppt.

CREATION OF MTD:

This tooling axis was created by BISECTING METHOD.

CLOSEBODY:

After close the join the A,B and C surfaces,insert one body and go to part design and generate the close body with the help of closebody.

CONCLUSION:

finally,the close body has been created.
