Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Base Bracket Design

Draft Analysis

green color indicates drafted walls above 3 deg.

Red color indicates drafted walls from 0-3 deg.

blue color indicates negative deg.

analysis shows the drafted walls of base bracket are above 3 degrees whic his permissible to manufacturing in injection molding.

hence the base bracket satisfy the minimmrequired draft angle on all faces of 3 degrees and can be manufactured in injection molding

input given : class A surface

creation of class B surface

created the b surface by extacting the surfaces from class A extarted surfaces are then offsetted (with dimensional thickness of the part 2.5 mm) ,untrimed and extaraplated with

creation of class C surface

using sweep option swept using profile as boundry line of class A which is guide curve with a subtype along draft direction

the direction of sweeo is direction of tooling axis created earlier

draft angle of the sweep provided is 3 deg surface is swept for length above the thickness of the part.

finally class A and class C is joined together.

close surface creation

the joined surface is trimmed with B surface to form close surface.

to the close surafe using close surface command in part workbench applied thickness to it.

performed draft analysis closed surface.

green color indicates drafted walls above 3 deg.

Red color indicates drafted walls from 0-3 deg.

blue color indicates negative deg.

analysis shows the drafted walls of base bracket are above 3 degrees whic his permissible to manufacturing in injection molding.
