Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Draft Analysis on a Fan Cover

Tooling axis creation and draft analysis for the given fan cover model:

A point is created in the centre of the circle in the top.

Then model is held for a check for any open, to confirm whether the model is fully closed or not. So a boundary line is een created around it.

Then a dummy axis is created by visually analysing the model and concluded it with creating an axis along z axis.

To find and create the tooling axis the model drafted side of the model is taken and drawn lines along the sides then a line is created in the centre with bisecting options using the two line on the side and the centre point as the reference through which the line should pass. After creating this line its named as tooling x axis.

The same procedure is used in the next side that is the y axis side to find the tooling axis in y. By using the bisecting option for the two lines in side created with the drafted side and the point as reference.

After creating the tooling x and y axis lines, the tooling axis line is created by using bisecting option with bisecting the x and y tooing axis lines. The tooling axis line is given a yellow colour so that the line could be differentiated.

As a result the tooling axis passes through the hole in the top along the z axis.

After finding and creating the tooling axis, draft analysis is taken place. But before going to draft analysis the class A surface model and the tooling axis is published. Then To do draft analysis the model should be in material shading. After defining the materialThe draft analysis tool bar opens. Befor loocking the model the compass is alinged to the model in a way in which the w line and the tooling axis that is the z axis matches with eachother .

After setting the compass, the draft direction is locked. And the model is clicked to do the analysis. If the analysis is done crectly and finished successfully then the model becomes green in colour indicating that the analysis is successfull.
