Draft Analysis on a Fan Cover
DRAFT ANALYSIS OF FAN COVER
DRAFT & DRAFT ANALYSIS :
Draft is used for providing angles or tapers on product features such as walls, ribs, posts, and bosses that lie parallel to the direction of release from the mold eases part ejection. Draught angles are designed in such a way that they will assist depart rejection. By doing so we have a reduced cycle time and improved productivity. Draft value for a particular part is mostly decided by the material used for making it " Using the draft analysis Tools identified the zones & highlight the area which denote specified values along a defined draft direction "
TOOLING AXIS / DIRECTION :
- In Molding, machine arrangement is given to open the mould along a direction which is known as Tooling Direction.
- In other words. The mould is built from two separate halves (Core and Cavity) and tooling direction basically defines the direction of mould pulls apart.
- Tooling direction is known as primary direction.
- For the draft analysis process first, make the X clearing axis and Y clearing axis and then make the bisecting line to make the tool clearing axis, and make the draft analysis with 3-degree clearance.

LEGENDS IN DRAFT ANALYSIS :
This option lets you choose between a quick and a full analysis mode. These two modes are completely independent. The default mode is the quick mode. It simplifies the analysis in that it displays only three color ranges.

ANALYSIS TOOLBAR QUICK MODE FULL MODE
VALUE EDITION TOOLBAR
GREEEN : DRAFT VALUE ABOVE 3 DEGREE
RED : BELOW 0 DEG
BLUE : 0 - 3 DEGREE
- Enter a new value to redefine the colour scale or use the slider to position the distance value within the allowed range
- The value is frozen the green colour is displayed
STEPS FOR DRAFT ANALYSIS :
- customized render style
- select the draft analysis tool
- draft direction to moulding axis using the compass
- observe colour ranges
