Week 8 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design
- Aim:
To Create the Base Bracket Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
- Report:
Class A Surface: Class A Surface is given as input from that i had design solid closed part. class A surface has zero thickness.

Tooling Axis: I had extracted the surface from the class A surface and create a point on that surface and create a dummy tooling axis. and draw two line from the parallel surface to line and then create a line by bisecting that two line from that point that is main tooling axis and it is highlighted by blue colour.

Class B Surface: Class B surface is behind the class A surface. it is Create from class A surface by extracted untrimming and extrapolation and trimming with other surface and the offseted from class A surface by 2.5mm. class B surface also has zero thickness.

Class C Surface: Class C surface is creted from class A surface by sweeping command with draft angle of 3 outside. it has zero thickness. hole also created by using sweep command with draft angle 3 degree inside. and it joined with Class A surface.

Closed surface of Base Bracket: close surface is created by trimming the class B surface with joined surface of class A surface and Class C surface.

Solid Surface: Solid suface is created from closed surface by using close surface command. it is solid surface and it has thickness of 2.5mm

Draft Analysis: I had done the draft analysis of the class A surface and closed surface.

Green Colour: Green colour indicates the draft angle of the surface is 2.6 degree.
Red Colour: red colour indicates the draft angle of the surface is 0 degree.
Blue Colour: blue colour indicates the draft angle of the surface has negetive angle.
Draft Analysis of Class A surface: when i had done the draft analysis of the class surface at draft angle of 2.9 degree it result is given as follow. it easily eject.

Draft Analysis of the Final plastic base bracket part: I had done the draft analysis of the closed surface it s results as given below,

The red portion indicate the zero degree of draft angle. then by changing the draft angle i take lots iteration, but when i had change the draft angle to 2.6 degree the red portion from the surface get disapper and because of that base bracket easily get ejected from the mould.
Draft Analysis with draft angle of 2.6 degree:

when maximum draft angle is 2.6 degree plastic base bracket part easily ejected from the mould.
