Challenge

Week 8-3D Tetra Meshing Challenge

Model-1

2D to 3D conversion.

1. Clear geometry errors like defeaturing and toggling edges to meet min length criteria.

2. Generate 2 D with tria elements and 5 units target mesh size

3. check for min and max length criteria .

4. Resolve the failed elements using tools in 2d-quality index-elelment optimize/place node

5. Resolve min length criteria using replace node tool in 2D-replace.

6. Generate 3D mesh using Tetramesh>>Elements

7. Check for tet collapse: 0.15.

8. Model meets the quality criteria

Model-2

1. Clear the geometry errors using toggle edge tool.

2. Go to 3D tab>>Tetramesh>>Volume tetra >> select the soild>>input element size of 3 >> input Tera mesh parameters >>mesh

3. The resulting mesh has elements that didnot meet quality criteria. 15 elements didnot meeet the criteria

Model-3

Same process as Model -2

The process adopted for Model-1 is efficient as Mesh meets the quality criteria...where as other two models didnot meet criteria. and It is a herculine task to correct each element for tet collapse.
