Challenge

Week 8

AIM:

To perform various morphing techniques on the given component.

Methodology:

The geometry is stitched using topo option and geometry check is performed.

The next step is to introduce a Morph box from the morphing deck in ANSA, and ortho Morph box is created for selected feature.

The morph box is made up of control points. These points can be moved.

The values are entered in the selected directions and the morph box is moved thus changing the geometry in the box component .

The component shape can also be changed as shown in the figure below:

The morph box can be split in order to add more control points. The split option is used from the box option in order to make a minute changes in the component.

The translate rotate scale options can be used on morph boxes.

At the end of the morphing ,the morphing box are deleted in order to remove any trace of the morphing activities performed in morphing deck.

In the industry morphing techniques are used to perform preliminary variations in an existing design in order to produce products where these techniques are used for preliminary analysis of a new design.

Learning Outcomes:

Different basic morphing techniques are explored.
