Week 5
AIM: To create 3D mesh for the given rear view mirror component according to given element criteria using ANSA.
METHODOLOGY
Geometry cleanup
assigning length of component
using ortho-tria and tria mesh to mesh the component
define a volume for component
check for tet collapse
QUALITY CRITERIA
| s.no | quality criteria | values |
| 1 | target length | 1 |
| 2 | min length | 0.5 |
| 3 | max length | 2 |
| 4 | tet collapse | 0.2 |
PROCEDURE
As a given component is plastic component with uneven thickness so we can go for 3D mesh instead of 2D meshing.
1.Geometry cleanup
The given component is subjected to geometry cleanup, the errors are checked and fixed.
2. assigning length of component as target length as 1mm.
3. Meshing
The element quality condition is entered into quality condition is entered into quality criteria tab and it is saved.
For curved surface area we use orthogonal tria meshing and for plane surface area we use tria meshing or orthogonal tria both.
After meshing we will define volume for component and after defining volume we will do FEM meshing for volume defined component.
And finally after meshing volume of component ..we have to check wether there are any tet collapse errors , if any then remove it by MV free option given in a grid.
RESULT
The parts are meshed successfully, the elements are visualised in solid.
CONCLUSION
Thus the 3D mesh is created for given rear view mirror component according to given quality criteria using ANSA.
