Aim: To take the Mid-surfaces of the given model and do meshing the model followed by the given quality criteria.

Objective:

• To do proper geometric clean up with no triple cons the surfaces.
• To extract a proper mid surface from the parent components manually.
• To create the seaparte property for the different different component eg

1)Upper body

2)Lower body

3)Inner body

• Maintain a Proper mesh flow with less tria concentration.
• Mesh the component properly with clean up tools to get proper mesh flow.

Procedure :

Importing the cad file :

• IGES,STEP,These two are standard file formats which are used most in industries.

• Geometry clean up:

  Goto mask and un mask option select the half part and then press mask.

Then same for another side of the part you will see the number if triple cons delete them.

Next step goto visualization option and then click on the edges on left side then untick on the check box of

1)free

2) shared

3) suppersed

Keep the model in wireframe mode and toggle all the triple cons. After that model is ready for the mid-surfaces.

Creating the different property :

To move a component part to that property use tools->organize-> surfaces->Dest component-> move

Lower body

Upper body:

Inner body:

Delete the empty component by delete->comps->previews empty component->delete entity.

Take mid-surface:

Mid surface is taken by manual offset

Geom->surface edit-> offset->surfs-> vector normal>reverse normal.

Quality criteria:

Before meshing we should add quality criteria and target length.

“Prefernces->Criteria file setting-> enter the data”.

Meshing the component:

In this model we get to know the proper geometry clean up and creating property , taking mid-surfaces & assigning the quality criteria ,and the meshing of model.
