Challenge

Week 7 Challenge - Assembly Workbench

The following steps have to be followed to complete the task.

1) Create the individual part model with positional sketch using 2D provided in the link. The features need to be grouped under partbody & axis, lines & planes need to be grouped under geometrical set. Also, check for the iso-constraint of the sketch.

2) Open a Cat Product file & create a reference part to use it as reference to assemble other parts. Make this reference part fixed.

3) Initially, pull the primary part of the assembly using assemble from existing component option & constraint the same with the reference part.

4) Create the necessary axis, line & plane to constraint the part to the reference part & publish all the axis, line & plane, in order, for automatic generation of the part & assembly.

5) Repeat Step 3 & 4 for assembling all the parts in the assembly.

6) Once the product is ready, use manipulator to check whether all the parts are properly constrained using 'with respect to constraints' option.

7) Open a Drafting sheet with the necessary specifications & add title block in the background using 'Edit - Sheet Background - Insert - Drawing - Frame & Title Block - Style of Title Block - Apply'.

8) Generate the Bill of Materials by using Analyze option to select the fields needed in the BOM. Then, use generate numbering option to determine the BOM numbering type. These generations need to be done in the 3D Model.

9) First, call the assembly iso view & insert BOM using 'Insert - Drawing - Bill of Material - Bill of Material ' & click on the sheet. Then, use generate balloons option to label the parts based on the BOM generated.

10) Later, detail all the Individual part numbers with the required views & dimensions in the consecutive sheets.

11) Convert this 2D Cat Drawing into a PDF for manufacturing purpose using 'Save as - change the save as type to PDF - Save'.

12) Lastly, Store all the required files of the product in a single folder & zip it for compressing the size of the folder.

The above steps were the exact process followed to complete both the tasks.
