Week 7 Challenge - Assembly Workbench
A report on week 7 challenge Assembly Workbench:
Steps followed to prepare an assembly:
1) Part Creation:
- Each part of the assembly is been created in the part design workbench by drawing the sketches with all the constrains and by using 3d modeling commands like pad, pocket and other methods like boolean operations a 3d part is been created.
- All the parts are saved in a single folder to prepare the assembly.
2) Assembly:
- The assembly is been created in assembly design workbench. For that a new product file is been created, inside that product file all the necessary parts are added by using the command 'existing component'.
- Then fixed constrain is been given to the parent part and remaining part are assembled to it using the constrains commands like coincidence, surface contact, offset etc.
- The position and orientation of the parts are adjusted using the commands like manipulate, compass and snap etc.
3) Drafting:
- 2d drawing of each part and the assembly is been created using the drafting workbench. All the projection views taken into the draft sheet using the view tools like front view, projection view and isometric view.
- All the respective dimensions are given to the drawing using the dimensioning tools.
- The frame and title block is been added to the sheet by switching the working views to the sheet background and using frame and title block option in insert tab title block and frame is been added to the sheet.
