Aim-: calculate the water current force act on given figure bridge and apply it in STADD pro

Given-:

HFL- 2m above foundation, span of bridge =45m

mean velocity Vmean=3m/s

water current loads are calculated as per IRC as follows

P=52KVmax^2 we can apply pier as circular so take K=0.66 Vmax= `root`2*vmean=1.414*3=4.242m/s

P=52*0.66*4.242*4.242=617.57kn/m

apply this water current force on bridge in Staddpro as 617.57kn/m

Now create a model and apply this force

Create a node of origin X=0,Y=0,Z=0 and by translition repeate assume width of bridge is 10m

Now from the given figure as span of 45m by using translition repeate step 2 @ X direction create beam

As from fig the minimum clearence of pier is 5.360m so assume as 2m foundation create a pier and assign support as fixed support to the pier

create abutment wall of ht 3.965m by using same translitional repeate to bith side of structure

Now create a plate to deck slab and abutment of 0.5*0.5m size by using translitional repeate @ Xdir and Zdir

Simillarly for abutment

assign the support to the abutment as fixed support

Now assigning the property to the member as follows-:

pier size(circular)=1.2m dia, main girder beam =1.5*1.5m, cross girder=1.5*0.75m, abutment plate thickness=0.6m, abutment beam =1.5*1.5m deck slab thickness=0.3m

now apply the water current force as ca;lculated above in +z and -z direction respectively and select pier as the member where this force is going to be act

Now run the analysis and post processing to get the deflextion of beam by water current force

The report of sectional forces are as follows
