Challenge

Week 6-Meshing of Hood Challenge

Aim:

The aim of the challenge is to mesh and assign for the hood model with the average element size of about 5mm

procedure:

1. After Importing the CAD checking for the geometrical errors and fixing the error

2.Then the CAD is checked for the symmetrical section

3. The model is symmetrical expect the centre latch portion all other parts are symmetry

4. After taking the Midsurface the component is splited and then one part is masked.

5. after that construction lines are removed by using the quick edit options like split node to node, node to line and toggle edge options

6. After that the component is meshed with the given criteria

7. Then the element are corrected as per the quality criteria

8. The Latch portion is separately meshed

9.After the elements are corrected the elements are to be reflected to the other side

10. It is then pasted by using the edges option and the equivalence by changing the tolerance values

11. Then using the same option by clicking the find edges the connectivity issues can be cleared.

12. Then the property is created for the component as thickness is calculated in the CAD

13. The Hinge is then separately connected with the edges option using equivalence

conclusion:

The model is meshed with the element of 5mm and the thickness is about 0.75mm
