Week-6 Calculate the Stretch Ratio by comparing the ELFORM (-2,-1,1,2) with Ogden_Material Model.

Aim: To perform the simulation on the block using elform -2,-1,2,1

Objective:

1. To create a block of 10*10 mm with 10 elements in each direction and use the material card attached

2. Use appropriate boundary conditions to simulate uniaxial tensile behaviour of the model

3.Compare the results by plotting the graph

4.To use a proper solver

Procedure:

1. The block of 10*10 mm was created using LS dyna with 10 elements in each row using shape mesher

2. The Section was defined for the FE model by using ELFORM,it is shown in below image

3.Further material and sectional properties were assigned to the model

4. Then after this boundary conditions were assigned to the model such that it meets the requirement for ultimate tensile test

5. The nodes in the moving face are selected for applying load that is along X

6. The min load to be applied on the moving surface to attain a stretch ratio of 5,is calculated by using following relation

True strain=ln(1+engg strain)

Stretch ratio=1+engg strain

5=1+(del L/L)

Delta L =40 mm

Hence max vlaue of 40 mm is taken

7. The node sets and Load Curve ID's are assigned to prescribed motion set to move along X direction

8. Then after this control cards are assigned to the model as Control termination, control Implicit general,Control implicit solver

9. After running the simulation for the above 4 cases the below results and graphs were acheived

Conclusion: Hence we can conclude that acheive a stretch value of 5 the stress acheived is 1.5 Mpa
