Week- 5 - Solid meshing

AIM:

To check for the geometrical errors and mesh the Surfaces with the given 2D element Quality criteria for the given Rearview mirror component. Also use the component for tetra element to mesh the volumes defined in the model and check for the quality after Volume meshing.

Procedure:

1. Import the given Rearview Mirror component in ANSA.
2. After importing the model make the TOPO for that component and make to geometry clean up.

3. Apply the target element length on the selected perimeter segments or macro areas to apply the mesh as per the given element criteria.
4. Apply the given quality criteria for the 2D meshing.

5. The model has the four components that shown in the property.
6. One by one the meshing process is done, here we using that ortho tria and tria mesh for the good mesh flow.

7. Then the reconstruction of the shells improves the mesh flow on the surface and improve the quality of the mesh.

 

8. Go to the volume deck and define the volume manually.

Here you will see the defined PID. And also the volume is unmeshed.

9. By using of tetra rapid or tetra FEM the volume can be meshed.

Now the model has meshed with solid elements.

10. After solid mesh check of TET COLLAPSE failing elements.

You can fix tet collapse by Auto fix quality in volume deck itself And also by moving the surface.

              The given Rearview Mirror model, the geometric errors have been checked, the 3D Tetra mesh is applied on all the surfaces and the quality is checked according to the given quality criteria.
