Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
AIM:
The given models, check for the geometrical errors and delete surface or unwanted surface. After cleaning the geometry ,Merge all 3 models and perform surface wrap.
OBJECTIVE:
To do surface wrap over assembled parts [ENGINE,TRANSMISSIONand GEAR BOX].
PROCEDURE:
- First the model is loaded on to ANSA.
- Unwanted surface are deleted without damaging the outer shape of the geometries.
- Single cons are resolved mainly here as it would affect negatively on the surface wrapping.
- After cleaning up the geometry from the unwanted surface it is then solved.
- Then whole three geometries are merged together to form the required system.
- Surface wrapping tool with constant length of 3mm is choosen from the meshing interface.
- It is then named and the required parts are selected [all].
- The RUN button is pressed to start the surface wrap.
- The RUN process is take time nearly 15 minutes .
MODEL:
1.ENGINE:

2.GEAR BOX:

3.TRANSMISSION:

REMOVE THE ERRORS AND UNWANTED SURFACE AND RINGS:
WIREFORM view and sinle conc, double conc and triple conc.

ISOLATE the parts and the unwnated ring in overall.

AFTER DELETE THE UNWANTED SURFACE

MERGE THE 3 PARTS:

1.Go to classic mesh>>Element>>Wrap >>Constant length.
2.Double click on 'Constant wrap octree'.

3.Double clickon 'parameter'.

Now i cancel this pop-up window and click on properties and we can see the properties and delete the PID's of deleted surface.

Click on green button to perform operation and click on OK.

Then the below model is coming out.
RESULT:

OUTCOMES:
Geometry cleanup
Germetry merging
Surface wrapping.
CONCLUSION:
1.Surface wrapping are RUN successfully on the given parts.
2.surface is easier to perform since it does not depend on the quality of the wrap on each material as we are not interest inphysics in the body.
3.Effective surface wrap is achieved on the given body for a given mesh length of 3mm.
