Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
AIM : To do a surface wrap for given Engine, Transmission and Gear box model after merging.
PROCEDURE :
Surface wraping is a method to study the analysis of outside flow of model.
1. Engine model
- Remove the unwanted parts and surfaces.
- Delete the all unchecked surfaces by universal delete option.
- Remove all the rings which are not required, delete all the ring like surfaces, so that hide required surface and delete all the unrequired surfaces.
- Isolate all required surfaces then delete the extra surfaces at one time.

2. GEAR BOX
- In gear box obserb carefully and remove all tripple cons and single cons.
- Delete all the unwanted surfaces.

3. TRANSMISSION BOX
- Remove all the surfaces or parts which is unwanted by isolating parts.
- Remove the Tripple cons in outside of the surfaces.

4. MERGING THE COMPONENTS
- During surface wrap all hole in model should be filled.
- Go to file menu and click on merge to connect the models.
- Go to mesh section select wrap option in elements group, use constrant length in wrap because it should be one length tjrough out model.
- Select on constant wrap, give target length as 3mm, Click on mesh group and default smooth factor is 0.5.
- Click on content zero, give name select PID which are to be wrap delete unwanted PID'S using compress option.

- By selecting not option, remove the edges in both ends then watch inside.
- The whole model should be a single volume.

LEARNING OUTCOMES :
- Throughout the course I learnt various new tools.
- I kearnt concepts of Surface wrapping.
RESULT :
The surface wrapping for the Merge model of Engine, Gearbox and Transmission is meshed with a target length of 3mm, the whole process is determined in single common volume.
CONCLUSION :
- In entire course I have studied a CFD meshing concepts.
- Through this course I learnt the many skills, about tools knowledge.
- I have learnt the concepts of flow analysis which is important for CFD.
