Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim : To do a surface meshing for a given Pressure valve model.

Procedure :

  1. Open a model in Ansa software.
  2. check the given model geometry and analyse the errors.
  3. Then clean the topological model and fill the gap of the model.
  4. In topo section click on faces group and select a new option and select the suitable option based on the model and fill the model as required.
  5. Then select a PID section and make a appropriate PID for particular part and give a name to each part.
  6. To select a inner parts of model Isolate the outer parts and make a PID name to each part.
  7. To specific part give a specific colour to each part.
  8. Finally make a selection of Mesh group and select a length in perimrters section and make sure that give target length in Perimeters, Macros, Mesh Parameters and in Quality criteria.
  9. Mesh a model for different target length of 1mm, 3mm and 5mm. at different time.

Learning outcomes: In this week I have learnt the different tools of topological clean up of model and others tools.

Result : for a given Pressure valve of the model The surface mesh and topological clean up has done to the model.

Conclusion : The target length given for mesh is 1mm, 3mm and 5mm.

out of these lengths the 1mm length is much and sufficient then the 3mm and 5mm lengths, because since some parts of the model is lower then the 3mm and 5mm in terms of measurements so model is not meahed properly so 1mm is best for meshing the Model.

The detailed pictures and model are attached to this report.
