Week 5 Bending of iPhone
Objective of challenge: To perform the simulation of I phone bending as per training video and in another case move the bottom fingers to defined position and define the S-N curve for the Aluminium Alloy material as per given values finally perform the simulation. Obtain the values of fatigue life results, directional deformation, Factor of Aluminium Alloy NL and Life of the Aluminium alloy. Compare the results and present with the conclusion.
Simulation setup configuration as follows:
1. Model as follows

2. Part names are specified as

3. Material applied for Display is "Glass", Frame is "Aluminum Alloy NL" and Inside is "Polyethylene"

For case 2 Material applied for Frame is "Aluminum Alloy" and specified values for S-N curve as per below image.

4. Connections configured as

5. Mesh size is configured as

Face sizing selected surfaces

6. Analysis settings configured as shown in below image.

Simulation results as follows:
| Description | Case 1 | Case 2 |
| Directional deformation Over all step-up |
Max 5.4765 mm![]() |
