Week 1 Stress Concentration on a Plate with hole

Case study 1 "Plate with a Hole"
Analysis details:
Input
1. Material - Stainless Steel
2. Mesh element size - 2mm
3. Mesh method - Tetrahedrons
4. Load - 500N

Output(Requested)
1. Maximum Principal Stress = 0.62417MPa
2. Maximum Deformation = 0.00028479mm
3. Maximum Equivalent (Von-Mises) Stress = 0.60767Mpa

Case study 2 "Plate with Holes"
Analysis details:
Input
1. Material - Stainless Steel
2. Mesh element size - 2mm
3. Mesh method - Tetrahedrons
4. Load - 500N

Output(Requested)
1. Maximum Principal Stress = 0.67122MPa
2. Maximum Deformation = 0.00030796mm
3. Maximum Equivalent (Von-Mises) Stress = 0.58366Mpa

1. Comparison: After removing 30mm dia of 2 holes in Case study 2, results of stress and deformation in both cases are found little difference. Maximum deformation in both cases found on applied force area. Maximum principal stress in both cases found on different position but in Von-Mises stress both cases found on large dia hole. Kindly go through the attached images.

2. In both cases results of stress and deformation are found little difference. For analysis point of view, I will select Case study 2 "Plate with Holes". Because change in design i.e., addition of 2 holes of removing material.

3. In manufacturing point of view, both cases are not difficult to manufacture. Depends on my requirement and function, I will select respectively.
