Week 5 Bending of iPhone

Aim :

To simulate the Iphone bending simulation in ansys workbench .

Software requried :

Ansys work bench 2021 R2

Produrce:

Download the file form the portal and open it in anasys workbench .

Import the model and open in spaceclaim .

Rename the models with identifed name so we can easly work on it .

Now merge the mutiple fcaes as sufficent faces requried for the simulations .

Then Assign the material for the parts for the fingers its strucural steel and case its non linear alumunium alloy then for the display its glass lastly for thr inner body its polythlene .

After this for the mesh the body is in default size and the face sizing is given for the finger tips and body of iphone .

Assign the transtansial joint on the thumb fingers and remaining fingers as fixed joints Then the phone body sides are fixed so it will not move .

Apply joint load on thumb fingers for 8mm displacement .

For the results directional displacement on the Y axsis then equvalent stress on body and strain lastly safety factor see the life of the material AL non linear alloy

Now it is sloved the results are attached below .

CASE 2

Case 2 :

we extened our simulation on finding the fatique life for Al non linear alloy .

Update the S - N curve for the Al non linear alloy then no of cycles & stress

Result:

As per the given question simulation is done and file given .

NOTE : As im fcaing some issues in uplading (.wbpz) file i have uploaded the .wbpj file the issues is with the portal i tried to uplaod but its not getting done i haved rised a ticket also stil no response kindly fix the issues ASAP .
