Week 4 -Wire Bending Challenge
OBJECTIVE:
To perform the wire bending simulation and compare the results for 3 different non linear materials.
METHODOLOGY:
- First add the given non linear materials to the engineering data from the material library.

- assaign the non linear material to the wire and define the frictional contact between the wire and lever and between wire and the die.

- give the revolute joint to the lever and apply the mesh .

- perform the face sizing to the surfaces which come in contact and refine the mesh by selecting the sphere of influence at a region on the wire where the max bending occurs.

- perform the analysis in 8 steps , fix the die and give the joint rotation to the lever in the form of tabular data.

- run the simulation and compare the results for different materials of the wire.
CASE 1: copper alloy

CASE 2: Aluminium alloy

CASE 3:Magnesium alloy

CONCLUSION:
From the above figures we can conclude that aluminium alloy can withstand more load and show better results than the other two materials.
