Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2

1)

mapped model engine is classified into two :ci mapped(diesel)and si mapped(petrol)

model uses a set of steady state lookup tables to characterize engine performance.it can be used when one has engine data .

tables provides overall engine characteristics i.e fuel flow rate, engine out exhaust emmisions.it can be used for quasi steady state engine simulations

dynamic model is also classified into two:ci engine and si engine

this model decomposes the engine behavior into engine characteristics that are separated by lower level components.by combing these components the models capture the dynamic effects.

it can be used when one need more detailed model and have component level data.

above screenshot are the path to change the model type

passenger car block-electric plant block-motgen EV mapped.then right click on it and select the variant

2)

here the battery power in wh is converted in kwh by dividing 1000 and it is divided by constant 33.7.

now kwh/gallon is divided by 3600(1hr=3600s)which is again multipiled by 0.00378541

and m3 per gallon is multiplied by 264.172 to get miles per gallon

3)

above screenshot is the hev referenece model

the default drive cycle is changed to WOT and the simulation time is changed to 180secs

in the environment block the gardeabilty and the wind velocity is changed to 8degree and 4m/sec

first plot is input drive cycle vs actual drive cycle

second block shows the battery current

4)

hev reference model is opened and below plot is obtained

EV reference model is selected and above graph is obtained

conclusion:

*Battery current is continuesly changing in HEV due to charging and discharging while in pure EV the battery current is consistanty dropping.

* The motor speed (RPM) is high for HEV compared to EV.
