Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2

1. MAPPED MODEL:It is based upon lookup tables and not the actual comonents .

  • It is a steady state state model and simulation takes less time due to simplicity.

DYNAMIC MODEL: It is based upon the actual component model.

  • Each component is modeled separately and simulation takes more time due to complexity.

TYPE:

iMPLEMENTATION

use

There are two types combustion ignition and spark ignition engines are present.

IN ci and si mapped engines: models uses a steady state lookup tables to characterise engine perfomance.

  • Thr table provides overall engine characteristics including actual torque fuel flow rate BSFC and engine out exhaust emissions.
  • If u have engine data from a dynamometer or a design tool like GT power .
  • Foor quasi steady state engine simulations.

DYNAMIC:

CI ENGINE

SI ENGINE

  • Model decompoe the engine behaviour into engine characteristics that are separated into lower level components.
  • by combining components in this way the model capture the dynamic efffects.
  • If we need a more detailed dynamic model and have components level data.
  • to analyze the impact of individual engine components on the overall performance.

2.To calculate miles per gallons

  • we should convert all the battery power into gallons this is defined by US environment PA.
  • TO calculate fuel economy in miles per gallon we need to consider vehicle speed and fuel volume flow
  • To calculate vehicle speed aspeed value is inputed and further calculated in math eqnns.
  • after that meter is converted into miles by multiply value.
  • To calculate fuel flow volume of fuel entered is taken place which is converted from m TO gallon.
  • Factors considered are speed of the vehicle and fuel flow volume.

3.The IC engine is in series and the electric motor is in parallel connection.

  • we have to given simulation time in simuink according to the information.
  • we observe from output result when full throttle is iven itreaches maximum velocity and the time period it decelerates eventually
  • And the battery falls as soon as the deceleration starts the regenerative braking system is enabled rise in battery observes.
  • battery draws current intially and during deceleration it gets charged and stops charging when egine s turned off.
  • drive cycle selected is wide open throttle.

4.In this case keeping the all parameters same

comparisions are

  • The maximum speed obtained in vehicle in HEV is higher than the EV.
  • FUEL ECONOMY has large in EV than that of HEV.
  • battery current is higher in HEV than in EV.
  • torque and speed is also high in HEV than in EV observable iN graphs.
  • so it concludes that,
  • battery discahrge time is clearly less in EV as to HEV.
  • efficiency is more in EV THAN in HEV.
  • EV HAS 0% EMISSION .
