Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1.Aim: To simulate the given data and conditions for an ev vehocle advisor tool in matlab.
You may get benefit using advisor if we
- estimate the fuel economy of vehicles that not even builtyet.
- learn about how conventional. hybrid or electric vehicless uses energy throughout their drive trains
- compare relative tailpipe emissions produced on anumber of ctcles
- evaluate an energy management strategy for ur hybrid vehicle fuels converter
- optimize the gear ratios in your transmission in yyour transmission to minimize fuel use or maximize perfrmance etc.,
The models are
- mostly empirical relying on drive train components input and output relationships measured in the laboratory and
- quasi static using data collected in steady state tests and correcting them for transients effects such as asthe rotational inertia of drive train components
FOR EV_DEFAULTS_IN FILE if cargo mass = 500 kg and all the other parameters in default with FTP DRIVE CYCLE.
- LOAD FILE :EV_defaults_ in file; cargo mass= 500kg.
- DRIVE CYCLE: CYC_FTP; no of cycles= 4.
Conclusion:Therfore we can see that 4 number of cycles at the given condition the vehicle travel for 41.4 km
If we increase the number of cycles then the vehicle can travel above 45 km ii.e, if we put cycles for 5 then the velocity is 59 km.
2. In the above case changing the battery capacity and repeat simulation.
- IF we change the battery capacity from 25 to 50 v after changing it we gets
- we can see that increasing the batterry capacity the vehicle travels for more than 53 kms in the same no of drive cycles.
- similarly we decrease the battery capacity the vehicle travels a leeser distance.
3.Aim: to perform the gradeability test with PRIUS_IPN_ defaults_ in file
- At speed =50kmph
- duration=10sec
- at energy storage disabed
- gradeability=2%
At speed =20kmph
duration=5
at energy storage disabled option.
gradeability= %
At speed =70kmph
duration=10 sec
energy storage disabled
gradeability=0.9%
At speed =70kmph
duration=10sec
fuel converter disabled
gradeability=8.9%.
thus the changing the speed and durations we can get the gradeability tests oupit wave forms and prceantage of it.
