Week 4 - 2D Meshing for Sheet Metal

Answer:

CCB meshed model:-

Checks Manager:

Procedure:

1.Open ANSA Software.

2.Import the CCB model into ansa.

3.For geometry cleanup go to checks manager and execute it.

4.If there are errors found then select all the errors and click fix to reduce or eliminate the errors in the geometry.

5.If the errors are not solved then select the individual error and click on show only to view the error portion.

6.Further rectify it by deleting the face or using topo.

7.Now after successful execution of checks extract the midsurface by measuring the parent geometry.

8.Use Midsurface by SKIN or Offset as per given model.

9.After extraction of midsurface give the quality parameters as per the given question.

10.Now do the necessary geometry cleanup for the better mesh flow.

11.Go to Mesh generation and mesh the given component part by part.

12.Several commands used:

i.MeshGeneration:Best-Click on a portion of component to mesh.

ii.Shell Mesh:Reconstruct-This is to rebuild the mesh by rearranging the elements in existing mesh.

iii.Shell Mesh:Smooth:-This command smooths the mesh and moves the elements.

iv.Elements:split-This command is used to splkit the element into trias for moving them forward.

v.Elements:Swap:-This command swaps the trias side ways.

vi.Grids:Paste:-This command will move the trias back by pasting two nodes togther.

vii.Grids:Move-This command is used to translate the element and is used to eliminate the min and max length errors by selecting one node to move either in x,y,z or all at a time.

viii.Perimeters:Length:-This command is used to give the target length for the mesh.

13.Manage the trias and failed elements properly.

14.Finally save the model with suitable name.
