Week - 4 - 2D meshing for Plastic components

Aim:

To do meshing for the given plastic component

Procedure:

For meshing the given plastic componenet , following steps needs to be performe

Step1:The first stage is gemetry checkup, do the geometry cleanup and checks. Ensure the given gemetry is 100% ok

Correct the needle faces by deleting the unwanted faces

Step 2:After correction again check the geometry clean up

Step3:Enable the required qc check points as per the requirements.

Step4:Start mid surface extraction

At the intial stage the auto-mid is not giving perfect result for the compomnent so I used manual mid(off set) for the mid surface extraction of the first layer

Mid surface extraction for the multiple number of side fins can be done by middle- multiple option

Middle surface extraction for the thread required little bit extra care, To get the mid for thread first create the mid curve for the feature

Use mid- curve option then devolp the new coon face for the selected curves

Bottom side of the feature also can done by the curve option.

Complete midsurface for all the child parts.

Step 5:

Start meshing for the parts.

Give the input of quality parametrs for this project in the quality index

Give the target length 1 mm and minimum length 0.5 and max length 3mm

Step 6:

Use the hidden mode in auxilary tab to visualize and check the quality parametrs.

First do the meshing for the side fins and inner parts,

Conclusion:

Meshing is done for the given plastic component as per the required quality parametrs.
