Week 4-1D Element Creation Challenge

Objective:

To create mesh for the given component and generate 1D elements with given cross section and DOF.

Procedure:

Step 1: Import Geometry –Given Iges file

Step 2: Geometry -Autocleanup

Step 3: Geometry – Mid Surface Generated for Upper and Lower bracket

Step 4: Defining Material to the component as steel

Step 5: Defining Property to the material

Step 6: Assigning Material and thickness to the property

Step 7: Assigning Property to the Mid surface

Step 8: Assigning Washer split

Step 9: Mesh the Given component as element size as 5mm.

Step 10: Creating RBE2 Element for d & e and mass

Step 11: Creating RBE2 with Translation Motion constrained

Step 12: Creating RBE3 link with all DOF constrained

Step 13: Creating RBE3 link by constrain x and y coordinates only

Step 14: Assigining Spring elements

Step 15: Assiging BOX,I,X SECTIONS

Step 16: Assigning Rod, Beam And Bar Element

Conclusion:

For the given component meshing had done and 1D elements specified with given cross section and dofs.
