WORKING ON WASHING MACHINE AND GEAR SHIFT LOGICS

1.LOGIC FOR WASHING MACHINE :

AIM :

The requirement of this logic is to build up the washing machine working model for which some set of instructions will be given using the chart block(i.e, used as a conditions block) and input power, water supply is given which acts as input to the chart block.

STATEFLOW :

The state flow is a type of alogarithm where conditions and actions were given for particular requirement and this total process will be given using the chart block. In this chart block there consists of a states where entry and exit points were given and transition lines where consitions were given.

PROCEDURE :

EXPLAINATION :

  • So in this model first there will be given a constant block as a power supply and also a water supply as inputs to the chart block.
  • To these power and water supplies an input on/off switches and lamps were connected for indicating the on/off supplies.
  • When going to inside the chart block first condition given is power supply, where if supply is 1 then state will be changed otherwise statement ends.
  • If power supply is executed then it goes to water supply and if that is executed then it goes to another statment or it stops.
  • Then after water supply is on then further states like soaking, washing, rinsing, drying, will takes place for particular time under a predefined sequence.
  • There is an input and output data manager in the chart box called as symbols pan where input and output data is managed or changed.

  • So this was the sequential operations that undergo in the washing machine and also there were other conditions such as :
  1. power on, water on.
  2. power off, water on.
  3. power off water off.
  4. power on, water off.

SIMULINK MODEL :

POWER ON, WATER ON :

The sequence of operations for this inputs :

  1. For this part the input power and water supply is in on condition.
  2. So after power and water states were sucessfully executed then after 100 sec, the soaking will happen.
  3. After soaking state, taking about 100 sec again, washing will happen.
  4. After 20 seconds rinsing will happen then again with an interval of 50 seconds, the clothes will be performed drying operation.
  5. Then finally after drying operation the operations of washing machine will be ended.

POWER OFF, WATER ON:

POWER OFF, WATER OFF :

POWER ON, WATER OFF :

CONCLUSION :

So from the above models we can say that by changing the power and water supplies we can notice the change in the output results.

2.GEAR SHIFT LOGIC :

AIM :

The main aspect of the gear shift logic is that depending on the input condtions the gear shifts will happen from one gear to another gear when the condition is executed sucessfully.

PROCEDURE :

EXPLAINATION :

  • Here first the input is given in the form of a speed by a constant block using another block called slider gain block.
  • Slider gain block is a scale like gauge which has a minimum and maximum limits that a slider will vary in between the limits and in simple ways it can be called as throttling.
  • So this type of throttling speed is given as input to the chart block in which all the conditions for gear shift will be given.
  • The symbols pan for the gear box is shown in the below image:

TABLE FOR GEAR SHIFT CONDITIONS:

s.no gear speed
1 gear 1 0-15
2 gear 2

16-25

3 gear 3 26-40
4 gear 4 41-60
5 gear 5 above 61
  • So as per above given conditions the conditions for change gear to gear is given in transition lines between the state blocks.
  • The entry and exit points were given inside the stateflow blocks.
  • The outputs and inputs for the chart box can be managed from the symbols pan dialogue box.
  • The outputs for all the gears should be mapped to the display box for which gear is in the active state in the particular point of speed input.

SIMULINK MODEL BLOCK DIAGRAM :

CONCLUSION :

Therefore the output of gear running at a time for the particular speed input is can be seen through the block diagram as above shown.
