Week 4

OBJECTIVE

T0 Create mesh for the bottle cap

The component after opening in the ansys work bench is like this which do not have any connections between entities

i run topo over all the component so that two entities can regain its connections

And now I run geometrical check for this component to check for the geometrical errors in the component

I got some errors in the geometry check I eliminated them by using auto fix and all my geometry is clean without errors

MID SURFACING

now i have done the mid surfacing the component

i used manual mid surfacing of the component

I have taken the mid surface for these ribs considering the width as thicness so as to have connection with the middle surface of the component if i considered height as thickness i=these ribs will not have connection with mid surface

MESHING

Type of Meshing used is 2D meshing as the component is plastic component in which we use 2D meshing

PARAMETERS

The following criterias are used to mesh the component

I used best mesh tool in mesh generation to create shell mesh

And i have corrected the failing elements in the mesh flow

I have assigned thickness to the entities
