Week - 3 Drop test Challenge

AIM:-

To simulate the mobile drop test by using LS-Dyna solver.

PROCEDURE:-

1. First import the .k file in LS Prepost GUI.

2. Open the LS Prepost select Files→Import→LS Dyna Keyword file as shown below.

3. See the graphical area it shows the meshed model as shown below.

4. Next rename the FEM parts to Mobile and concrete wall as shown below.

5. Next create the materials for mobile and concrete wall select model and part→Keyword manager→All→MAT as shown below.

6. Next assign the materials for the mobile and rigid wall as shown below.

7. Create the section for solids select model and part→Keyword manager→All→Section→Solid as shown below.

8. Assign the section for the mobile and rigid wall as shown below.

9. Next create the initial velocity select model and part→Keyword manager→All→Initial→Velocity as shown below.

10. Next create the surface to surface contact as shown below.

11. Next create the TERMINATION as shown below.

12. Next create the Database files select the ASCll_option as shown below.

13. Next create the Database files select BINARY_D3PLOT as shown below.

14. Next click on the model checking icon select keyword check click on the check as shown below.

15. Next save the .k file and run the simulation in LS-RUN as shown below.

16. Simulation is successfully completed without any error.

17. Next import the Dplot file in LS pre-p as shown below.

18. Next plot the energies graphs on the simulation as shown below.

19. Here the Kinetic energy is decreased, Internal energy is increased and Hourglass energy is constant.

CONCLUSION:-

Thus, I completed a simulation on the drop test of mobile onto the floor and plot the energies by using LS-Dyna.
