Aim:
To perform the volumetric mesh for the turbo charger model with the given mesh dimensions.
Objectives:
To perform geomtry cleanup for the turbo charger model
To apply surface mesh with the dimensions as suggested.
To convert surface mesh to volumetric metric from the surface mesh.
Procedure:
- Geometry cleanup:
- Geomtry checks were performed.
- Single cons were removed by inserting new surfaces.
- Overlapping surfaces were deleted.
- Triple cons were left as it is, as they are related to the model.
- Property ids were given to all the parts as required.
- Surface mesh:
- Different PID's were given different mesh sizes as suggested.
- However, near the intersections where different mesh sizes intersect, proper mesh sizes needs to be given using the macros option and topo options.
- Volumetric mesh:
- Inappropriate volumes where fluid doesnt flow needs to be removed.
- TetraCFD is applied to the Volumes wehere fluid is flowing.
Result:
Volumetric mesh is created to the turbocharger model.
Conclusions:
- Different parts need different mesh sizes.
- Mesh size is much finer near the intersections of different body parts.
- CFD mesh should given where the fluid is flowing.
