Week 3 Challenge : CFD meshing on Turbocharger
AIM: Performing Volumetric mesh to the Turbocharger for CFD analysis, Checking for Geometrical errors to make appropriate volumes. Creating and assigning PID's and performing the surface mesh and volumetric mesh.
Procedure:
1. Check for Single CONS
2. If Singles cons are forming check wheather the geometry is properly closed and perform some topo cleanup, if geometry is opened it is necessary to close the geometry and it will create double cons or triple cons
3. In the same way check for triple cons, really weather it is necessary or not
4. And in some other cases we have to release the cons using RELEASE option (i.e., it will divide the triple cons to double cons, if it is double it will make it to single cons, same way to join the lines or curves we use the option 'TOPO' it is used to convert single cons to double cons and double cons to triple cons
5. Geometry checks tobe done frequently for Single cons and checking for triple cons at necessary places and trimming the extra surfaces with TRIM option.
6. After Cleaning the goemetry we have to assign and create PID's
7. Performing surface meshing with given target length for different PID's
8. Using Tria mesh on the surface giving different target lengths
9. Before going to the volumetric mesh, each and every surface to be meshed with element type as Tria mesh.
10. After performing the Surface mesh we have to perform volumetric mesh.
11. we have to define the volumes by using the option DEFINE
12. After defining volumes will create, by default thickness of the surface also creates the volume, we have to see it carefully and delete the thickness surface for CFD application.
13. Then we have to perform tetrahedral CFD mesh for the volumes.
