Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim: Checking for the geometrical errors and performing the topology cleanup accordingly, and having different target lengths as three different cases and the meshing the model

Target length = 1mm, 3mm and 5mm

Element type: Tria

Procedure:

Step 1: checking geometrical errors

Step 2: Finding single cons

Step 3: Cleanup geometry by using commands like, in faces (NEW, UNDELETE, TOPO) in cons (FILL HOLE)

Step 4: cleaning all geometrical errors by using above commands and ignore if the triple cons necessary area where three faces meet, delete unneccesary faces that creates triple cons using commands UNDELETE & TOPO

Step 5: Creating PID's in properties

Step 6: after cleaning all geometrical errors, Perform Meshing based on the geometry

Step 7: Select geometry and give perimeter length and macros length

Step 8: Next step to give Target length, element type, type of derivative first order derivative or second order derivative, and setting Max. and Min. Length

Step 9: Applying Mesh

Result:

Target length: 5mm, 1mm

Target length: 1mm

Target length: 3mm

Conclusion: perfomed meshing in element type as Tria, and peformed target length in 3 cases (1mm, 5mm, 3mm)
