Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

Aim: To Perform Use the ADVISOR tool and simulate the following:

1) For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

Load the Adviosr tool from the matlab command window and load the file EV_default_in and change the cargo mass to 500 and keeping the remaining variable as it ist then hitting the continue button.

for our requirements we need FTP based cycle select from the drop down menu and hit run.

Hit the Run button to show the results.

Here we can see the distance covered to 45km and this drive cycle can onlly cmplete 17.8 so we need more than 1 drive cycle so i'll put 3 FTP drive cycle to get he desired value.

2) In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

the current battery capacity is kept as 25 we need to increase battery capacity so that vehicle can run up to 45km.

Now we'll change the battery capacity to 45.

by increasing the battery capacity we can see the range changed and increased to 53.3km which is more than the required range we need.

3) Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file. Compare your results in table and conclude.

For this load the PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in and hit the continue option then go to grade options and change the value to 35mph and hit ok. Now run the simulation.

Hit ok and run the simulation for results to appear then go for comparision.

After running the Prius model with different speeds we can check the gradeablility percentage, we need to take the value at different speed and make a tabular coloum.
