Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

Q1}

Steps :-

• Load ADVISOR tool from matlab command window.
• Load ‘EV_default_in’ file and change the cargo weight to 500 and keep the remaining values same an continue to load the cycle page.
• We require the FTP based cycle so select the ‘CYC_FTP’ and change the no of cycle from 1 to 3 for the required value.
• Where we get Gasoline Equivalent 93.8 & Distance (Miles) 25.7 which is 41.4 km.
• And we get the graph to observe the various values.

Q2}

Steps :-

• Open the same model from ADVISOR tool.
• Increase the battery capacity from 25 to 45 so thet vehicle can run more than 45 km.
• By increasing the battery capacity we observe thet the range has been increased to Gasoline Equivalent 90.6 & Distance (Miles) 33.1 which is 53.3 km.
• Which is more than the required range we need.

Q3}

Steps :-

• Load ADVISOR tool from matlab command window.
• Load ‘PRIUS_JPN_defaults_in’ file from load file option to load Prius model.
• Do not change any value in the model and press the continue button.
• To test the gradeability test select the grade test advanced options and change the speed to 35 mph and select the gradeability test option and run the program.

6) From above table we observe that the with the increase in speed the gradeability decreases the maximum gradeability is at 5 mph and the lowest gradeability is at 35 mph.
