Q1). Implement control logic of a washing machine using stateflow as per given sequence:-

Ans:- Working of washing machine are as follows:-

A washing machine has the ability to spin at the speed of 800-1600 rpm. In it the soap/detergents are added as the cleaning agent. At such speed it helps the detergents and dirt with it to leave the surface of the cloth via centrifugal force and into outlet pipes hence utilising centrifugation to both clean and partially dry the clothes loaded in it. The processes are electrically controlled, such as the drum, valves, pump, motor and heating. The valve opens again and the dirty water drains out of the drums. The pump works to help get rid of the water. The valve lets clean water in again into the drums and it also has four processes a) Soaking b) Washing c) Rinsing d) Drying.

a) Soaking:- It is used to dip clothes in detergent water to remove the dirt from the clothes in this function customer need to select soak from panel. This function is available with wash timer in 47 min of washing 27 min soak and 15 min machine will wash the clothes.

b) Washing:- During the wash cycle a motor use to rotate and a agitator turns around moving the clothes through the water. When the wash is finished the pumpdrains the water from the outer drum.

c) Rinsing:- The dirty soapy water is drained then the washing machine is refilled and clothes are rewashed in clean water after it spin takes place where all the water is drained completely, then clothes rae spun very fast and excess water is removed through centrifugal force.

d) Dryer:- The pushing of dry air through wet clothes for extraction of moisture is done then clothing the humid air in a heat exchanger to condense the moisture which is collected in a tank or pumped down the drain. The air is reheated and the cycle repeats.

These are the working principle of the washing machine.

Result:-The two inputs are given for the power and water supply once the inputs are given outputs are displayed by the flow chart as per the given sequence then it is checked and the process is completed by green light as displayed.

Q2). Make a Simulink chart for the “Gear shift” logic as per condition's.

Ans:- The Gear shift mechanism for a manual transmission includes a shaft axially movable transmission includes a shaft axially movable for selecting shift planes and rotatable for engaging the gears defining the shift planes. The shaft is held in a reference shift by two helical springs.

Results:- In simulink model of a gear shift logic using slider gain the values are obtained. As attached in this file.

Conclusion:- With the use of stateflow we can solve the repeating sequence and can control the output by applying proper stop time.
