Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

How to start the ADVISOR tool.

1.Download the advisor matlab software,instal the directory root to matlab.

2.Launch the MATLAB & first set default location folder to the advisor.

3.Now in command window of matlab type advisor & press enter

4.New window will open & start the advisor the GUI

Advisor tool have1.vehicle input,2.simulation parameter,3.Result window.

1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

1.we have to loadEV_defaults_in for that change the Parallel_default_in to EV-defaults.in at load file.

2.Change the cargo mass to 500kg &click continue, following screen open

following screen will open

Change the drive cycle to CYC_FTP

in this vehicle run for 11miles in ftp drive cycle for one drive cycle

for 45KM it has to run for 28miles

for 3drive cycles run for the 25.7miles

output shows the after three drive cycle battery SOC got drained

so far total distance coverd is25.7miles=41.3KM

now we try to change the battery capacity at vehicle input screen.

'#of mod V nom'-describe battery capacity.by default its 25..

Changing to 26:

output is26.5miles for 3drive cycles

changing it to 27

output is 27.8miles =44.7km for three drive cycles

now changing battery strength to 28

output is 28.8miles=46.3km for three drive cycles

changed the battery capacity from 25 to 28 to get required distance

3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file

change the PRIUS_Jpn_default model

choose gradeability test for it.

In grade option box we change the sparametrs as we needed

I run the defult option of55mph with duration of 10s

1.gradeability at 55mph=88.5kmph is 1.7%

2.gradeability for 60kmph=37.28mph 10s is - 2.5%

3.gradeability for 20mph 10s is-19.8%

4.gradeability for 15mph 10s is-24.4%

Observed speed decreases the gradeability increases
