Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

Use ADVISOR tool and simulate the following

1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file

Compare your results in table and conclude.

Open the ADVISOR tool
Set the load file is EV_defaults_in
Put 500 kg in cargo mass
Click on Run button

Then select the CYC_UDDS
Each FTP drive cycle lasts for a time period of 2.4 sec and a distance of 17.8 kmph
In order to verify if the vehicle travel 45 km then select the no. of cycle 4
Then click on run button

After click on Run button Result of graph appear

overall ration is 6.6
Emission is 0

Select the EV_defaults_in advisor tool
Put cargo mass is 500 kg
Select energy source of battery mod 50 and 675 volt
Click on run button

Select CYC_FTP

Take number of cycle is 4

Then click on run button

Result

1)overall ration is 6.6

2)Emission is 0

3)ess_soc_hist decrease with increases

4)From the above graph of soc it is evident that the state of charge remain at 22% even after completing 4 FTP drive cycle also under the fuel consumption tab the distance travel is display as 48.6 miles by increase the battery module 20 to 50
