Week 3 Challenge
Aim:
To provide the advantages of having battery modules in a battery pack and the specification of an individual battery module of an Electric vehicle.
Introduction:
In simple words, the battery module is a kind of connection of the cells of the multiple batteries that are connected in parallel or series. A battery pack is a key part of a hybrid electric vehicle or an electric vehicle that is made by the connection of more than one number of batteries and that are responsible to provide electric power to the motor of the vehicle.
Importance:
In a hybrid electric vehicle or an electric vehicle, the battery module or battery pack is responsible to provide the power to the motor by which the vehicle will run.
Applications:
Battery packs are used in all kinds of electric equipment or vehicle. For example, electric vehicles, lawnmowers, phones, and many more.
Advantages of having battery modules in a battery pack are shown below,
The battery can be swapped into or out of the device easily without any hurdle
It will provide multiple battery packs to deliver long runtimes
We can separately remove any battery pack separately while charging
In a battery pack, we can connect a greater number of cells with each other and as per the need and also helps in ease of manufacturing, safety in manufacturing, and safety in failure.
Specifications:
The specification of an individual battery module is specified by the following,
Cell module and packs
Battery classification
C rate of the battery
E rate of the battery
Secondary cells of the battery
Primary cells of the battery
Depth of the discharge of the battery
Terminal voltage o the battery
Open circuit voltage of the battery
