Week 3 - 2D meshing for Sheet metal

OBJECTIVE

For the given hood model, do the geometry cleanup and mesh with the given quality criteria.

INITIAL CADMODEL IMAGE

PROCEDURE

1. Performed TOPO and incresed resolution of the CAD model using LENGTH tool.
2. Assigned property ID for the given model
3. Performed geometry clean up.

4. Mid surface generation

I have used Face>>Midsurface tool to generate midsurface as the it is a sheet metal model and have same thickness through out. It was more easy and accurate.

5. DEFINING MESH PARAMETERS AND QUALITY CRITERIA

Mesh parameters and quality criteria was set according to the given perimeters

6. MESH GENERATION

Mesh generation was done using BEST tool.

8.MESH FLOW AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT.

After the mesh generation mesh flow quality has improved using tools like reconstruct, smooth, split and join etc
