Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim: Surface meshing on a pressure valve

Procedure:

1)Geometry check and find out errors

2)Identify single cons and do topo cleanup

3)Assign PID for each separate region

4)Do meshing for all the PIDs as per given mesh length

Learning outcomes:

  • How to use geometry function to find out the error in the given model
  • After finding the error in the given model, topo cleanup is done
  • In Topo cleanup, i wondered lot of function to clean error and make me to familiar with the usage of topo functions and also know the importance of deletingthe smaller regions
  • Getting knowledge of the PIDs assignments for each region and know the importance of the PID assingments. PID assingments made me to separate each region with easy manner
  • After PID assingment, i know the importance of eliminate the unwanted PID
  • Find out how to mesh with different lengths for given model

Result:

  • Meshing is done for a given model for a given mesh lengths

Conclusion:

  • I wondered the meshing for different lengths and observed the changes in the model look for each mesh length. When we give smaller mesh length compared to larger one, we get better outlook of the model and one more thing i noticed that we always give smaller mesh length when compared to its surface length/diameter
