Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim:- performing meshing of a valve.

Procedure:- the procedure of the meshing valve is as follows.

1. Open valve model in ansa software.

2. the first step is to remove all geometric errors. and make a perfect water-tight model.

3. after resolving all errors then delete unwanted surfaces.

4. Specify each component and color differently with the help of PID. like body, base surface, inlet, outlet, spring, valve head, column. etc.

5. select a meshing option and start to meshing all components one by one.

6. valve body , base surface and column has 5mm mesh length and tria element type.

7. valve head has 3mm mesh length and tria type element.

8. spring has 1mm mesh length and tria type element.

9. after specify all meshing lengths to different components our meshing process is done.

Learning outcome:- I learn about how to find geometrical errors how to resolve it and also go through different features in topology. after resolving all geometrical errors we learn about meshing how to define meshing length how to apply therm. also we learn how to apply diffrent mesh length on different faces. and we see different types of elements in meshing.

Result:- The meshing of the valve is done as you see in the following uploaded file.

also, we use three mesh length which is 1mm, 3mm, and 5mm. it is also shown in the following uploaded file.

we see spring meshing is looking more perfect in shape because we use small meshing length thats why we get a perfect shape .

Conclusion:- gathering knowledge about ansa software its different feature also knowing deep knowledge of meshing.
