SURFACE MESHING ON A PRESSURE VALVE

AIM:

To perform TOPO cleanup and patch the missing surfaces and deploy the surface mesh on the Pressure Valve thereby assigning PID with different selection techniques using ANSA V22.

OBJECTIVE:

To compare the output of the mesh quality of the pressure valve, by doing TOPO cleanup of the geometry and assign the different mesh Target Length –of 1mm,3mm &5mm provided the element Type- Tria.

PROCEDURE:

1.Importing the file.

2.Perform Geometry Check

3.Perform TOPO Cleanup by patching missing surfaces.

5.Creating the closed volume for meshing.

LEARNING OUTCOME:

I learnt to create the surface mesh on the pressure valve by creating PID's with different selection techniques which includes Topo cleanup of the geometry along with three different mesh Target length's of 1mm,3mm,5mm. Similarly,identifying the errors in the model using geometry checks and patch the missing surfaces and also meshing the surfaces according to the PID region.

RESULT:

Comparison of Surface meshing on the pressure valve with the triangular mesh of different mesh target length of 1mm,3mm,5mm is done in order to get the better quality mesh.

CONCLUSON:

The main theme of this challenge is to compare the different mesh quality obtained as a result of different mesh length where target length of 5mm having 8802 elements and target length of 3mm having 23,862 elements and target length of 1mm having 210212 elements.In conclusion,target length of 1mm is more accurate and better mesh quality is achieved.
