Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim:

To do Topo cleanup and

To do surface mesh on pressure valve

Given Spec:

Target length for 3 cases

Case 1: 1mm,Tria element

Case 2: 3mm,Tria element

Case 3: 5mm,Tria element

ANSA implementation:

CASE 1: 1mm

  • Firstly topo cleanup of a geometry is carried out.
  • PID creation for each component is done.

  • Paramters are set and mesh is carried out through classic meshing option
  • Free mesh as its 2D geometry

CASE 2: 3mm

  • PID defined for the compenents as Inlet,Outlet,Shaft,Spring and column

CASE 3 : 5mm

Summary:

As the target length is increased the compenets refines and changes.

In spring the observation made is while meshing with 1mm, the performanance or the feature remains same whereas while setting the target length to 3mm or 5mm it deforms. Hence 1mm gives the better effects on the components.
