Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim/Objective:

For the given model, check for the geometrical errors and perform Topology clean-up accordingly. Mesh the model with given mesh lengths.

  • Target length = 1mm, 3 mm and 5 mm (i.e. 3 cases)
  • Element type = Tria

Procedure:

  1. Fill the gaps in model which happens due to import translation error.
  2. Identify the single, double and triple cons.
  3. Clean up the single cons by modify the faces.
  4. Check the triple cons and correct them too
  5. Then correct the other topological errors.
  6. Set the mesh length in macro and perimeters also.
  7. Finally set the mesh length in mesh parameters
  8. Then start the mesh process by using spot mesh in mesh generation option.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. How to clear the topological errors.
  2. How to remove the unwanted cons
  3. Methods of mesh
  4. Mesh the components with different mesh length in same assembly
  5. Create new cons and faces.

Result:

The assembly was meshed with different mesh length in successfully.
