Challenge

Surface meshing on a Pressure valve using ANSA.

Aim: Surface meshing on Pressure valve

Objective: To learn ANSA tool

Procedure:

1) Open the pressure valve file in ANSA

2) Go to the checks. then go for geometry checks. Assign single cons, cracks, overlap faces, needle faces, triple cons, colapsed cons, unchecked faces and Excecute the checks. It will show some errors. Resolve it by topologyclean up.

3)For Face filling go to Faces and assign new faces where ever it is neccessary.

4)For Hole filling, fill holes is used. and if we dont want to choose entire loop, then go for ENT mode.

5) In CFD applications, Model should be closed. So patching is done where ever it is neccessary.

6) After that remove small cuts which are present in model in order to avoid uneven shape of model.

7) Lets go to PID manager which is present at the top of window screen. and create different different PIDs through it.

8) Assign different colors to different PIDs.

9) After that go for meshing. Assign Mesh lenghts through Perimeter and Macros.and then go to mesh parameters. apply target length. check min and max target length. check for quality criteria.

10) Now we can apply meshing in one shot or in small small shot respectively.

11) We can changed the mesh lenght for single part separately by hiding other parts by using lock option.

Result: Out of the three cases, The valve having 1mm Target length gives best result. As distance between two nodes is small hence we get fine geometry meshing. and if the target length is more we will getting uneven surface finish meshing which is showned in case of 3mm and 5mm target length respectively.
