Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve
Aim : Surface meshing of pressure valve using ANSA.
Procedure:
- Importing the geometry in the ANSA working window.
- Patching the surface using the loop tool.
- In side the loop tool, fitted and cons tool are used for the fill the surface according the shape.
- Check the triple cons,single cons, double cons unmeshed surafce,overlap surface and so on using check manager to see any error are there are not.
- Remove the unwanted line and cut using cut tool present in the face section in topo.
- Using the PID manager in PSHELL, we will assign the name to the surface.
- Use the length tool in mesh section to provide the mesh length to parameters and macros and then update in the parametrs and quality check.
- Using the spotmesh tool, we will create the mesh with specific assign mesh length and check quality of mesh is good or not.

Lerning Outcomes:
- 1mm mesh create good surface mesh of pressure valve as compared to 3mm mesh and 5mm mesh.
- In 3mm and 5mm mesh, we will not able to create good mesh on the spring because spring has less dia than assign mesh length.
- Learnt about the loop tool which is used to fill the irregular/regular crack/holes in the geometry for topology cleanup.and for filling holes Fill tool also used.
- Error like triple cone and unwanted intersection surface inside the stem were deleted.
- Using PShell tool, we can specify the name of the surface and also identify the overlapping surafce which is an error for the geometry.
- We have to specify the minimum length and maximum length of the mesh and trageted length should come in between not equal to minimum length or maximum length.
Conclusion:
- The mesh which have length 1mm is best mesh among the other because it is finest one than other.
- Finer the mesh better and accurate we will be the result.
- Smaller the grid size , more accurate the result.
