Week 2 Challenge
CHALLENGE OF WEEK-2
1.1. Assign circular section to column :-
After creating the nodes and joint the two nodes by beam -go to properties- define-select circular- put the diameter- apply.
- Assign unit system to a staad model file :-
At the time of creating of new project select the unit as metric
And also from search bar type unit and set current unit.
- Parameters to be specified while using bay frame option :-
Length of structure, width and height of structure.
No of bays along length, no of bays along width, no of bays along height
4.Codal standards incorporated in STAAD Pro software:-
ACI 318 1999, ACI 318 2002, ACI 318 2005, AS 3600, BS 8007, IS 13920 1993, IS 13920 2016 etc.
5.Specify the design compressive strength of rcc section-
Go to design – click on define parameter-click on FC and put the compressive strength.
2.1. steps involved in rcc design-
Read/study drawing(plan/elevation etc) – input geometry-input properties-input support- input load and load combination-input design standard-specify analysis type-run analysis-verify results-design-represent design as document and drawing.
2.Difference between fixed support and enforced support condition:-
In fixed support all rotational and translational movement are restrained but in enforced support either we can create fixed support or roller support by releasing of force and moments.
3.1. Steps involved in analysis a model by using staad pro:-
Go to geometry-create the model by using nodes and connect them through beam-go to properties- define the properties-assign the properties- go to material – select the material- go to support- define the support -assign the supports-go to loading – create the load – assign in structure- go to analysis and design- run analysis.
2.Two ways in which a structural framework can be created in staad pro:-
One ways to create the frame work by nodes and connect the nodes by beams.
Another ways to create the framework by wizard structure by put the following values- Length of structure, width and height of structure.
No of bays along length, no of bays along width, no of bays along height
- Different support condition in staad pro-
Fixed support- all translational movement and rotational movement are restrained.
Pinned-all translational movement are restrained and rotational movements are released.
Fixed but- for creating the supports by releasing the moments and force.
- Extract the stress distribution for a staircase slab-
After run the analysis- go to postprocessing mode- go to plate results-select combination load- select stress type-I,e max absolute, max top etc – apply
- Different ways to view of SF and BM in staad pro-
Go to post processing mode- click on Mz to view the bending moment diagram and click on Fy to see the shear force diagram.
Practical-
1.Analyze of simply supported beam
Select the unit of distance as meter and load as kn
Create the nodes
Joints the nodes through beam
Create the supports as one is fixed support and another is roller support
Assign the supports
Create the load and assign on correct distance
Click over reaction
Run the analysis- go to postprocessing mode
Click on Fx then we can found the shear force diagram and Mz as bending moment diagram.
1.Analyze of fixed beam
Go to search bar type unit- set the diamension as meter and load as kn-create the nodes and connect the nodes through beam.
Create the properties as dimension of the beam
Assign the properties in structure
Create the material as concrete and assign
Create the supports from fixed support and assign at both ends
Create the loading from member load select member force and give the value as -9 kn/m
Analysis the structure and go to post processing mode and click on reaction
See the bending moment diagram
