Challenge 4
At first set up the unit from search bar search the unit and go to change the distance as meter and load as kilo-newton.
Draw one beam to create the nodes, and through translation repeat we create the another three longitudinal beams and create diapharm , and transverse beam.
Assign the supports-
Support 1- create support-fixed but-release moment Mx, My, Mz-add
Go to use cursor to assign- assigning at middle two beam at left side support.
Support 2- create support-fixed but-release moment Mx, My, Mz,Fx-add.
Go to use cursor to assign- assigning at middle two beam at right side support.
Support 3- create support-fixed but-release moment Mx, My,Mz,Fz-add
Go to use cursor to assign- assigning at end side two beam at left side support.
Support 4- create support-fixed but-release moment Mx, My, Mz, Fz, Fx-add
Go to use cursor to assign- assigning at end side two beam at right side support.
Assign section properties-
From properties >Define>General
The above section properties created for End pier, for assigning select the end pier at both side and assign.
The above properties created for mid pier, for assigning select the mid beams > assign to selected beams > assign.
Then we create the missing properties, so go to define > rectangular
For assigning go to select > attributes >missing properties > missing properties > assign.
Create Load:-
Go to load > vehicle definition
Calculation:-
Load comes on axle = 16t
Load comes on one wheel =(16t/2)=8t = (8*9.81) =78.5 KN.
Then create the loading type I,e DL & SIDL.
Under DL we create the self weight
And under SIDL we create member load.
Go to member load > uniform force
Above load created for plinth load.
The above load is created for parapet.
The above moment is created for left side parapet.
The above moment is created for another side parapet.
For assigning the plinth load-
Select 4 longitudinal I beam > select load case 1 > assign to selected beams > assign > yes.
Assign the parapet load-
Go to top view > select both side end longitudinal beams > click on parapet load case > assign to selected beams > yes.
Assign the moment on right side parapet-
Select the right side longitudinal beam > click on moment case 11.75 KN-M/M > assign to selected beams > assign> yes.
The follow the same procedure as above moment only change the moment as (-11.75KN-M/M)
Then from loading option click on load generator
No of load to be generate is 257.
Calculation-
Total length of train with two bogies is=(2.3+12.4+2.3+4.4+2.3+12.4+2.3)=38.4 meter + 0.1 meter expansion gap= 38.5 meter.
And span of girder = 25.6 meter.
So total distance= (38.5 + 25.6)=64.1 meter.
If we applied the load at every 0.25 meter then total no of load to be applied =(64.1/0.25)=257 nos.
From load case details select 257 generate load > add.
add this above load generation values.
And we need to add another load case under 257 generate load.
Click on add and close.
Then go to analysis > run analysis> postprocessing .
From results we see the bending moment diagram.
And see the share force diagram.
And also see how to generate the load on span
